The 5th friariello festival celebrates the bitter leafy green at the heart of Neapolitan cooking: sausage with friarielli, pasta dressed with them, rustic pizzas, stuffed focaccia and country soups. There are folk music and shows, artisan stalls with cured meats, cheeses and sweets, and talks on the vegetable's history. The 2027 edition is listed for 30 January-1 February at Tenuta Nuvia near Naples.
