21st edition of a historical reenactment marking real regional history: the Tresinaro valley was a Byzantine-Lombard border zone that coexisted peacefully for two centuries longer than the rest of Italy. A village of about 800 residents mobilizes over 120 volunteers to turn Baiso's center into a medieval market and encampment, with five taverns serving dishes inspired by Byzantine and Lombard cooking alongside local Apennine specialties, plus jousting, street performers, and falconry.
