A potato festival founded in 1980 by local resident Mercolino Cuda, run today by a committee of young local volunteers — grown at altitude in soil most of the coast can't match, the potatoes turn up fried, in salad, with peppers, and above all in grispedde ccu'ra sarda ara petrejancara, a Pietrebianche-specific fried dough with sardine, alongside traditional afternoon games (pignatte, treasure hunt, tug of war) before the evening food stands open.
